Alba STB8 Chipset

The digital processing circuitry on the Alba STB8 has metal shielding. Removing this shield reveals the processor, ROM, and RAM, the basic components of a microcomputer system. The main processor is the OMEGA STX5118 ALB, which has the decoder circuitry, and runs at around 166 MHz speed. The upgrade to this processor is the STX5188.

Flash Memory

This appears to be a NAND flash memory chip, which stores the firmware. Unfortunately, it is unmarked.
